Itinerary
Day one
Riders fly in from Brisbane (flight included in price but must be booked and paid for 6 months prior to tour departure) with a total of 3 stops in all, Charleville, Quilpie, Windorah before arriving in Birdsville around 2 pm.
The flight is a good chance to have a bird’s eye view of the changing landscape from the east coast of Australia to the channel country desert outlook.
You guys will then settle into our Birdsville camp for lunch, then we will get you familiar with the tour set up and some do’s and don’ts on the tour.
A bit of free time and a chance to have a wander around the town to look at some of its history and buildings before dinner at the famous Birdsville hotel.
Day two/ 308km
The first day sees us travel down the Birdsville Track through the channel country along the Diamantina River. This is where you will get a feel for how big Australia really is as you ride the dusty road. We will past by Clifton Hill Station and the southern entrance to the Simpson Desert (Warburton Track).
Mirra Mitta Bore and Mount Gason Bore are points of interest along the track.
We wind up the day at Mungerannie road house where you are able to relax in the artesian pool which is very warm, then head over to the bar to meet other traveller over a few beers.
Day three/ 336km
After a great relaxing evening in the Mungerannie bar its time to hit the road and continue the journey south along the dusty Birdsville Track. The conditions are same as the day before, the endless straight road encounter the odd traveller heading the other direction.
Marree is our next big stop, this also where we meet up with the "Old Ghan rail route" and get a chance to look over the old Ghan locomotives.
Our final leg for the day as we change direction and follow the old Ghan line on the Oodnadatta Track to Coward Springs which was once one of the Ghan's many stops, You can also wash away the dust in a magic natrual spa over looked by reeds and huge date palms.
Day four/ 281km
This day will bring on the urge to explore the may abandon rail way stations that where once part of the Ghan rail line. You will encounter the stations as you head north on the Oodnadatta Track. On the track exists William Creek hotel, one of the most remote hotels in Australia and is like an oasis in the desert, a great place for a cold drink to escape the heat.
After your little break and your concentration levels are up again we continue on to township of Oodnadatta where we will finish up for the day, the place also has a great historical past with well documented museum.

The abandoned Algebuckina Bridge along the Oodnadatta track is one of the many interesting highlights that you will see as part of the old Ghan central railway line heading north.
Day five/ 180km
After a an interesting night at the Pink roadhouse we head off for our next destination for the day of Dalhousie Springs a series of thermal pool with an average temperature of 37 degrees.
Before that you will encounter some more history for the Ghan and further down the track inspect the ruins of an of plastral property which includes grave sites, old stock yards and stone cobble buildings.
Day six/ 324km
We leave Dalhousie and head for Mt Dare Station to refuel and also souvenir to hunt in the store. After refuelling we ride to meet up with an abandoned station from the Ghan line and then we follow the same road which takes us into the aboriginal community of Fink which is part of the Fink Desert race.
We head west and refuel at Kulgera on the Stuart HWY, then continue on west on Mulga Park Rd and find a camp for the evening.
Day seven/ 352km
Arial view of the RockThe day will see us complete our journey to Uluru and stay at the Resort.
That evening will see a rough bunch of motorcyclist go out for dinner for a good time and anticipate our next challenge for the following day.
Day eight/ 40km
Our final day we will ride out to the rock (Uluru) in the fresh cool morning air.
This will freshen you up before the climb up, which will defiantly test out your ticker to the top. The reward at the top will be the magnificent 360 degree views of the desert country. What a way to finish the tour!!!...
